Chapter 6


It’s been 3 days since me, Kay, and Bramble arrived at Oak’s. 3 long days of agonizing waiting for me. To keep us occupied, we talked and/or played with the several pokemon in the lab. I recognized a few of them as Ash’s, like his Kingler, Snorlax, Bayleef, and others. His Cyndaquil seemed to idolize me, as he followed me around everywhere I went. It started to get annoying, but didn’t want to get angry at him.
I also decided to practice my attacks, in case we got attacked by the rockets again, or whatever else might happen. I found out I was able to use flamethrower, flame wheel, and quick attack. As I was practicing my flamethrower in the garden with Bramble sleeping, and Kay bored, Oak walked in.
“Good news everyone! You’re trip to Altomare is set! You three will be taking a cruise ship from Vermilion City straight to Altomare. One of my pokemon trainers will be your escort. He does not know of your situation Ty, but will make sure you get to Altomare safely. You and your friends will pose as his pokemon. I will take you to Vermilion in my personal helicopter. We will be leaving in about 1 hour. I will fill you in on other details on the way there.” I couldn’t sit still.  The prospect of me getting closer to becoming human again was undescribable. I couldn’t hold still, so I decided to take a quick walk
“Kay! Bramble! I’ll be back in a few minutes.”
“Ok!” And with that, I left.


As I was walking I started to think about everything that has happened so far. I turned into a pokemon. I got transported to an entirely different world, which I thought was just fictional. I may never get to go back to the home I once knew. I might never see my friends and family again. These thought alone were almost enough to make me cry(which doesn’t happen often). I tried to think of the positives of my situation. I have always liked pokemon, and was now in a world full of them. I had become one of my favorite pokemon, but lost being a human in the process. I also gained a few new friends. It seemed about even on both ends.
I kept walking absentmindedly, when suddenly the ground under my feet disappeared, and started to fall down. This didn’t go on long though, as I soon hit the ground again, and it was painful. The sound of evil laughter filled the air.
“HAHAHAHA!! One clone down, two clones to go!” Clone? I’m not a clone! Why would anyone think that? Unless...
“Yes, but don’t forget, we aren’t done here yet. We still need to get that pikachu and buizel.” Team Rocket! Those goons must have followed us to Pallet. They must be desperate to catch us.
“Well that’s just great.” I mumbled to myself.
“Steve! Catch him with a pokeball!” Now I knew the taller rocket was called Steve, and I also knew I was about to be captured.
“Oops...”
“Oops!? What’s that supposed to mean?”
“The pokeballs are at our Viridian Base!”
“Idiot...all right. I’ll go get them, and in the mean time, you make sure this typhlosion clone doesn’t escape!”
“Y-Yes Sir!” With one rocket gone, it would be easier to escape. I waited about 5 minutes before I made my move. The hole I was in was only about 8 feet deep, and on the show, even the smallest of pokemon could leap 20 feet in the air. Yet again, my captors weren’t to smart. It was an easy jump out of the pit for me.
“What the!?” He was completely caught off guard, and I decided to teach him a fiery lesson about capturing pokemon. I made my getaway, trying to lose him before he could start chasing me.


I ran as fast as I could back to Oak’s lab, so everyone wouldn’t worry how long it was taking me. As I neared the lab, I did my best to look like I came back from a boring walk. Bramble looked up at me.
“Have a nice walk?”
“Eh, sorta.”


The time had come for us to leave. I was as happy as before, and slightly more jittery from my previous encounter with Team Rocket.
“Everyone ready?” Oak called to us. We piled into the helicopter, and took off almost seconds later. It was my first time riding a helicopter, and luckily I didn’t get sick. From the looks of it, Kay felt a little uneasy.
“Whats’a matter? Scared?” Bramble teased.
“Quiet you, or you’ll regret it!” That shut Bramble up. I just rolled my eyes.
“Ahem! If I may...”Oak started, “Once we land in Altomare, you will be greeted by a 13 year old pokemon trainer, who you will travel the city with and share a hotel room with him for 5 days, waiting for the next helicopter to pick you up. As I said before, he does not know you were once human. I have only told him to protect you three at all costs. You will pretend to be his pokemon. He is very good when it comes to helping and befriending pokemon, as he has been a fairly successful pokemon trainer, starting 3 years ago.” 3 years ago? Wait, 13 year old, minus 3 years is 10 years old. I had a funny feeling I knew who our “trainer” was going to be. The Pokemon Professor continued. “He has actually just finished a journey in the Sinnoh Region, and is visiting Altomare for the time being.” It was pretty obvious now. “His name is Ash Ketchum.”


We arrived in Altomare several hours later. It was the most beautiful city I had ever seen, and quickly noticed it was very similar to my world’s Venice. There were gondolas and everything! I was going to enjoy this city.
“Hey Professor Oak! Long time no see!” I knew instantly this was the same Ash from the Pokemon anime. He had the exact same voice and clothing as I remembered him. He even had his trademark Pikachu on his shoulder.”I suppose this is the typhlosion, buizel, and pikachu you were talking about?”
“Why, yes they are! Let me introduce you to them. This is Kay.” Kay looked proud of herself.
“Howdy.” Ash looked at her for a second.
“He’s a bit different from my Buizel. He’s darker, and has a teardrop on his forehead.” Big mistake! Kay punched Ash so hard and so fast he had no idea she even moved. “Hey! What in the world was that for!?” Kay pointed to the spot on her back. Ash studied for a moment. The Professor chimed in.
“Many pokemon have visible differences between males and females. In buizel’s case, the male has 2 cream colored spots on his back. A female, on the other hand, has only one spot.”
“Well she didn’t have to punch me...”Ash just grumbled.
“This is Bramble,” Oak continued. Bramble stepped forward.
“Hello.”
“Cool! Another pikachu!” Ash’s Pikachu seemed to notice and hopped off Ash’s shoulder to greet Bramble.
“Hi! My name’s Pikachu! Nice to meet you!” He stuck his tail out for a “tailshake”, like a human would do for a handshake. Bramble smiled and shook tails.
“Mine’s Bramble. Nice to meet you too!” Ash and Oak smiled at them.
“They seem to be getting along nicely. And lastly, this is Ty, the Typhlosion.” I stepped forward to greet him.
“Hey. Nice to meet you.” I felt stupid talking to him, knowing he wouldn’t understand.
“Uh, Professor Oak, you never mentioned this typhlosion could speak English.” WHAT!?
“He can’t. Why do you say that?”
“Because I just heard him speak English!”
“WHAT!?!” This had everyone’s attention instantly.
“Ash, could you understand the other pokemon?”
“No.”
“So you’re saying you can only understand Ty.”
“I guess so.”
“Uh...Okay. Ty, could say something and see if Ash can translate it.” What should I say?
“Uhh, I love pie?”
“I love pie?”
“Ty, is that what you said?” I nodded. Ash really could understand what I said. Either that, or he had a sudden craving for pie.
“Well, even though this is the first time in history something like this happened, at least you two can communicate. I’m terribly sorry, but I need to be heading back to Pallet Town. I need to go to a very important meeting.”
“Ok. Bye!” All of us said in unison. I was still bewildered by the fact Ash understood me. In the show, he was shown to be very unique and special, but I never expected something like this!
“Hey Ash, where are we staying in Altomare?”
“We are staying in the Altomare Luxury Resort Hotel. It’s the best hotel in Altomare! Come on! I’ll show you!”


We weren’t staying in a hotel. We were staying in the largest mansion ever! Along with other people. The one thing that blew me away more than anything was the size of the room we were staying in. It was not only the nicest hotel room I had ever seen, but it was also the largest, probably as large as a one story house. There was even a small hot tub! I was going to enjoy these next 5 days.
